All Hands In
Make Impact with us!

We are proud to offer our School Occupational Therapy Pro Bono service as one of our services. We offer the Pro bono service because to us, this work holds deeper meaning when it’s done unconditionally. Our mission is rooted in genuine care and the belief that every child deserves the support they need without financial barriers.  We ask families only to contribute towards basic expenses such as transportation for the therapists and therapy materials, with full transparency through receipts. For insight into the financial burdens many parents face, we encourage you to read this article from The Straits Times: Long wait times for early intervention push parents of kids with developmental needs to private sector.

The Pro Bono School Occupational Therapy service is sustained through a portion of the revenue generated from our other paid services including Occupational Therapy and the enrichment activitites such as our Outdoor Social Fitness Sessions.

In addition, we provide talks and workshops for schools, companies, and organizations dedicated to fostering inclusion. The revenue from these talks, which focus on spreading awareness and inclusive practices, also helps fund and sustain our Pro Bono School Occupational Therapy service. We are not asking for donations—simply by supporting our paid services or purchasing our products, you are helping sustain our commitment to provide this Pro Bono therapy service to children, removing the financial barriers that might otherwise prevent them from receiving the support they need.

We are also asking for your hearts, minds, and passion to help families with children who have special needs. Many parents are paying exorbitant amounts without receiving the right support, and this has to change. We urge you to read this article from The Straits Times on the challenges parents face: Clutching at straws: Parents of children with special needs navigate uneven therapy practices.

To truly make a difference, here are some essential actions we need to take to ensure that children receive the support they deserve:

  1. Provide immediate access to effective therapy for all children who need essential developmental support without financial barriers.

  2. Establish a code of ethics for therapy providers, including:

    • Compulsory clear treatment plans.

    • Reliance on evidence-based methods.

    • Effective collaboration with families and schools, ensuring clear discharge plans rather than prolonged clinic stays.

    • Therapy service providers should also commit to including low-income families in their client base, ensuring that their services are not exclusive to those who can afford high fees. By intentionally supporting a diverse clientele, therapy providers can avoid contributing to societal inequality, where only children from wealthier families have access to crucial developmental support. This approach upholds a commitment to equity and prevents the denial of therapy access to children from lower-income families, fostering a more inclusive and just society.
