Outdoor Social Fitness  for Kids with Special Needs.

Promoting Inclusion, Social engagement and an Active Healthy Lifestyle for Children with Special Needs in the community.

It may not occur often to see children with special needs playing side by side with other children in parks or playgrounds. This separation often means that children with special needs miss out on valuable opportunities to interact, learn, and grow in the same way as their peers. The lack of shared play experiences can create unintentional barriers, making it harder for them to feel included, understood, and confident in social settings.

That is why we are committed to bringing children with special needs outdoors to parks, where they can engage in play activities alongside other children in a natural, inclusive environment.

Why Our Outdoor Social Fitness Sessions Are Important for Children with Special Needs:

  • Promoting Physical Health and Fitness: Physical exercise is essential for the growth and development of children with special needs. Engaging in regular outdoor exercise  promotes a healthy lifestyle and helps children stay active.

  • Encouraging Social Interaction and Community Involvement: Our Outdoor Social Fitness Sessions offer a unique opportunity for children with special needs to interact with the society. These interactions help promote empathy, understanding, and acceptance within the community, breaking down barriers and encouraging inclusivity.

  • Building Self-Confidence: Through outdoor play and exercise, children have the chance to explore new challenges, develop resilience, and build self-confidence. These positive experiences help them become more confident in social settings.

How does a session look like:

  • One-hour duration

  • Held in parks (locations are chosen based on the family's preferences. Examples of parks we've worked at: Botanic Garden, Toa Payoh West Park, West Coast)
